How to Change a Tire on Honda CR-V [Complete Guide]
The Honda CR-V is one of America's most popular compact SUVs. The spare tire is located under the cargo floor. This guide applies to CR-V models from 2020-2024.
The spare tire is stored under the cargo floor in the rear. Lift the cargo floor lid to access the spare tire, jack, and lug wrench.
The CR-V has designated jack points on the pinch weld under the rocker panels. Look for small notches in the metal about 10 inches behind the front wheel or in front of the rear wheel.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Pull over to a level, stable surface away from traffic. Turn on your hazard lights and apply the parking brake.

Put the CR-V in Park and engage the parking brake. Place wheel wedges behind the tire diagonally opposite the flat tire.

Open the rear liftgate. Lift the cargo floor cover to reveal the spare tire compartment. Remove the spare tire, jack, and tools.

Before lifting, use the lug wrench to loosen all 5 lug nuts on the flat tire about one turn each. Don't remove them yet.

Position the jack under the pinch weld at the marked jack point. Raise the CR-V until the flat tire is about 6 inches off the ground.

Warning: Never position the jack under the body panels, suspension, or exhaust.
Remove the lug nuts and pull the flat tire straight off. Set it aside in a safe location.

Mount the spare tire onto the wheel studs. Hand-tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern.

Lower the vehicle partially. Fully tighten all lug nuts in a star pattern. Lower completely and remove the jack.

Store the flat tire in the cargo area. Replace the jack, tools, and cargo floor cover. Check spare tire pressure soon.
